If you are diagnosed with amebiasis, your doctor may prescribe Tindamax®, which is effective for treating the infection.
Simple dosing with high cure rates
Tindamax® dosing varies for adults and children according to the specific infection, but it is generally short in duration and very effective. For adults, the recommended treatment is one 2-gram dose a day for 3 days amebiasis, or 3-5 days for amebic liver abscess.
Figure 1 summarizes results from multiple studies on the efficacy of tinidazole in GI infections. The average cure rate in adults is 92% for intestinal amebiasis and 93% for amebic liver abscess.
